The goal of acupuncture is to improve the flow of energy (chi, pronounced chee) through areas of the body that are obstructed.  It has been used for thousands of years to promote health, prevent illness and treat various medical problems.

Acupuncture is very helpful for patients undergoing chemotherapy or cancer treatments to reduce side effects such as dry mouth secondary to head and neck radiation, nausea, fatigue, peripheral neuropathy and hot flashes.

Dr. Elizabeth Armstrong brings the unique perspective of a board-certified physician to her practice of acupuncture. She has a special interest in helping  oncology patients, stroke patients and  those struggling with sports injuries or chronic pain to find relief.

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a medical technique that is safe, natural, drug-free and effective.  Acupuncture can help relieve symptoms and signs of many health problems.  Tiny, sterile, single use needles are gently placed into specific acupuncture sites to activate the natural, self-healing abilities of the body.  Heat, electrical stimulation and pressure may also be added to increase stimulation.
